About Lynda Smith

Lynda has competed in Reining on National and International levels, showing in the NRHA 3 year Old Futurity in 2002. Her interest in horses began at a very young age, in a non-horse family. Regardless of circumstances, the drive lead her on though many equestrian disciplines such as Dressage, Eventing, Hunt Seat, Western Pleasure & Trail Horse where she competed very successfully.

Lynda continued with her horse hobby until 1997, when she decide to leave a full-time job and make horses her career. During this time, her interest in Reining horses turned to full blown passion. She attained her coaching Level 1 in 1997, in 1998 & 1999 she apprenticed with an established trainer. Also in 1999, Lynda Smith and 'Justin's Tyke' were named WCRA Open & Novice Horse Open Year End Champions as well as being 6th in Canada in the Limited Open Reining category. She also won the BCRA Breeders Classic 3 yr. old Futurity on 'Docz Sunup Play'.

The fall of 1999, saw Lynda move to the Lower Mainland of BC, to start her own business, Mane Stream Reining. After spending countless hours traveling, to teach Horsemanship to all that would listen, Lynda was honored by the Horse Council of BC as "Coach of the Year 2000". She successfully completed her Level 2 Reining Coach certification in 2001.

Lynda Smith has proven herself as a competitor winning a number of of Open Reining championships in BC, on several outstanding horses such as 'Miss Mellie', 'Savanna Jackson', 'My Favorite Time', 'Lacy's Dun Dualin', 'PC Tuff', 'Major See Me Go', 'JB Jordan', 'Smart Ana Lil Lucky' and 'Ole San Cocoa Lena'.

Lynda, her husband Dave and their 3 children live in Pitt Meadows, BC.
